Dengue Fever: One victim of dengue fever in the capital, the death toll in the state rises to 6

 Dengue Fever: 213 new cases of dengue have been detected and 1742 people have been infected with dengue in the month of June. It is said that women and children are prone to dengue infection, and pregnant women are advised to be more careful as dengue causes more damage.


Bengaluru : BBMP has confirmed that a 27-year-old youth from Kaggadaspur died of dengue fever. Two suspected dengue deaths occurred last Friday. BBMP Health Audit confirmed that one death was due to dengue.

Dengue is responsible for the death of a youth from Kaggadaspur. But the BBMP health audit has submitted a report to the government that the cause of death of the 80-year-old woman was cancer. There are currently 1743 active dengue cases in the city.

213 new cases of dengue have been detected and 1742 people have been infected with dengue in the month of June. It is said that women and children are prone to dengue infection, and pregnant women are advised to be more careful as dengue causes more damage.

So far two people have died of dengue fever in the city. CV Raman, a 27-year-old youth from Nagar, succumbed to dengue fever and succumbed to severe fever in a private hospital, BBMP sources informed.

Dengue crossed the 4 thousand mark; Five deaths

Due to extreme weather and rain, the number of dengue cases is increasing. In 2024 till date (June) 93,012 were suspected, of which 40,918 blood samples were collected. Accordingly, 4364 people have been diagnosed with dengue fever. Five people have died due to dengue fever. One each died in Shimoga, Bagalkote, Gadag and two in Hassan.

BBMP moves forward for death auditing

Dengue cases have increased dramatically in the state capital. 1,385 people have been diagnosed with dengue fever in Bangalore since January. No death due to dengue has been reported so far. But two people are suspected to have died of dengue fever and BBMP has started a death audit to find out the cause of death.

BBMP health department informed that 3,470 larva breeding sites have been found, out of which 2,004 sites have been destroyed. The corporation's health personnel have surveyed 17,877 houses till yesterday. After the audit, the report is sent to the Health and Family Welfare Department.
